Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry Sauce

It's that time of the year again... The time to plan your Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners! For these occasions, we're happy to share with you today a classic: cranberry sauce!

PS: make sure you prepare more for holiday brunch (a killer with pancakes!) and aperitivo (to complement an oven-baked brie 😉).

Ingredients (serves 8)

  • 250g fresh (rinsed) or frozen cranberries

  • 100g sugar

  • 150ml water

  • cinnamon, to taste

  • nutmeg, to taste (but not too much as it can be very strong!)

Method

  • Place the water and sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved

  • Add the fresh or frozen cranberries and simmer until they become tender, between 6-10 minutes if using frozen or fresh cranberries

  • Once the cranberries have burst, add the cinnamon and nutmeg

  • Remove the pot from heat and let cool completely at room temperature. The sauce will thicken as it cools

  • Note that you can keep the sauce in the fridge up to one week
